His latest record,"Permanent Revolution", is a collection of varying-fi recordings made over an extended period of time which skulk around the deep convolutions of his creative, volatile & swaying state of mind. A melodic post-classic rock retro/futro collision of lyrically introspective extrospection in varying situations and contexts.
Glenn''s use of his wide range of vocal tones creating voices through a series of vintage microphonics to varied effect. His spacey blend of warm guitar sonics played on an assortment of vintage guitars, pedals, emitting transister bark and tube warmth into a cool combination of elements of rock, blues and country. Glenn interleaves piano, wurli, B-3, scattered synths, electric & upright basses, live and midi drums, tape machine effects, & incidental leaks in the field of sound with expand and contract the mix as the vibe changes.
Glenn has an uncanny knack for spinning songs out experimenting with depth of sound & post-rock arrangement. From bare moments to allusions to multi-colored chord overtones tempered by random (un)orchestrated chaos summoning a sonic & thematic twist of the post-classic rock realm combining music from many music eras into a new progressive hi-fi sound.
Songs on Permenant Revolution were written, performed & recorded in Los Angeles at Hollister Court by GH. Except "Words" which was mixed by Eddie Ashworth(Sublime/GnR) & GH at Total Access with Drums: Gary Ferguson(Michael Penn/New Radicals/John Hiatt). Pedal Steel on "Part of the Solution" by Cloud Eleven pop-maestro, Rick Gallego. Many of the songs on the record have since appeared on television and movies.
In the past, Glenn has collaborated, recorded with or appeared on record with many artists (members of the Heartbreakers, Eagles, Pretenders & Ian McLagan, Dave Alvin)& has appeared as headlining act or in various bands supporting a variety of acts including Wilco, Jeff Buckley, Elliot Smith, Lucinda Williams, Smithereens, Sparklehorse, Incubus, Dwight Yoakum & Pete Yorn.
