Grace Before Meals are a new band who had their debut show in 2008 at The Cad Factory in their hometown of Sydney, Australia supporting Mick Turner (The Dirty Three) and Jeffrey Wegner (The Laughing Clowns).
The band exist as a four piece featuring piano, xylophone, percussion, clarinet, voice, viola, bass guitar and all manner of found things.
They combine their love of soft, creepy, beautiful music, with maddened carnival stomps.

Between mid April and mid July 2009, Grace Before Meals embarked on travel throughout Europe and China for a tour of conventional and underground venues.

Back at home in Sydney Australia, the members of Grace Before Meals run a warehouse venue/exhibition space called The Cad Factory. They are also responsible for establishing a rural residency program which sees artists sent out into the remote Australian landscape (Narrandera) to create work in different mediums.
