Lovelife was formed in the U at Newark Memorial High School in Newark, CA. One day at school, Hudson noticed Briley with a guitar and asked about getting together to form a project. Originally called The Pictures, it was later decided that with the songs being about Love and Life, the group would simply be called Lovelife. The band originally consisted of Hudson, Briley and classmate Cecil Averett. Some time after the abrupt departure of drummer/keyboardist/Hudson''s co-writer Averett, Atom Dance entered the picture as guitarist, with other temporary members such as Steve Cavoretto of Dora Flood lending keyboard/vocal/co-writing duties. The whole project eventually went on hiatus while Briley went away to college and subsequently played in the bands Grasshopper and Dora Flood. For a few years. the John Bonham/Neil Pert influenced drummer John Lacerda, also a neighborhood mate of Hudson''s entered the picture with Hudson, Briley and sometimes Atom Dance, eventually moving out of state. Briley and Hudson met in the 7th grade and started playing music together in their senior year of high school. Mike Vigil, also a childhood friend and classmate, teamed up with Briley and Hudson in 2006, after playing for several years in the band Vigil with his brothers and several other projects, although all three had performed together in high school. Hudson met on again/off again guitarist Atom Dance shortly after high school. It was this relationship that brought the classic/blues/glam/hair metal rock guitar aspect to the band, coupled with Briley and Hudson''s deep new romantic/punk/alternative/technopop roots, and Mike Vigil''s heavily grunge rock oriented style. In 2008, Hudson''s brother Michael Hawk came on board to handle production duties. The current lineup is: Briley-bass guitar, Michael Hawk-production, Mike Vigil Jr-drums/vocals and Hudson Thomas-guitars/keyboards/vocals. Lovelife-songs about love and life.
