Improvvisamente la luna “Suddenly the moon” is a musical project begun in 1988.
It consists of decidedly melodic European jazz compositions. The musical climate is essentially lyric, more linked to the aesthetics of silence and pause than to the one of rhythmic propulsion. Music unwinds as an individual tale, often without keeping to the continuity between tracks. The goal is to overcome conventional standards, especially as concerning structural solutions and tone-colour research: the drums gain in new sonority, break up and are often used as a solo instrument; the double-bass is a rhythmic barycentre, one track fades into another at times, anticipating its harmonic structure even before the theme appears.
The deriving musical universe contrasts with the conservatism of the mainstream: a floating, extremely refined universe, made of light and shadows with wide-ranging moments alternate to experimental ones.
