Details:
Here is the long-awaited ‘first’ album from the Roadhouse Dogs, London’s finest Americana roots-rockers. Produced by Jason Emberton and recorded in early 2009, it features 13 new songs that conjure up echoes of everyone from the Stones to Woody Guthrie and beyond.

In 2003, Donnie Burke, erstwhile singer, guitar-player and songwriter with legendary 80’s London ‘post-punk’ rockers ‘The Gas’, rose from a near-15 year hiatus into a new and exciting period of productivity and songwriting. Bored and disillusioned with the manner in which traditional American influences, blues, country, soul etc., had been slowly eroded and all but erased from the mainstream British music scene ever since the great punk explosion of 1977, he had begun an odyssey of discovery in the USA, hitting on the thriving and ever-burgeoning ‘alt-country’ movement that had received scant attention in his native London. Invigorated and energised and armed with a guitar, harmonica and drum machine, Burke retreated into his modest loft studio and set about recording a set of songs that became the first Roadhouse Dogs album ‘Nowhereville’ (2005). It was essentially a work of fiction credited to a make-believe band from Dogpatch Arkansas. Despite little or no promotion or fanfare the record sold well on CD Baby, encouraging Burke to start work on a follow up, 2006’s “The Yearning”. In the three years since that release, Burke has teamed up with long-time cohort Terry Hamid, drummer Terry O’Sullivan and bassist Simon Minney to transform the Roadhouse Dogs from a figment of the imagination into a hard-rockin’ shit-kickin’ rock n roll band regularly tearing up venues in and around their home town, London. The end result of this union has been the recording and release of this new CD ‘Chain of Rocks’, the third part of Donnie Burke’s American trilogy but, more importantly, the first release by the Roadhouse Dogs as a living, breathing, house-shaking bona-fide rock n roll phenomenon.
