Northern Labour Party is a band rooted in the analog sounds of the late 70''s/early 80''s post punk and new wave movements. Formed by several seasoned musicians of the Orange County and Los Angeles music scenes, along with a veteran of the Dutch and German scenes, Northern Labour Party was forged through a love and individual influences of: Joy Division, New Order, Magazine, Gary Numan, and Interpol.
The band''s sound has sometimes been labeled as "dark pop," an attempt to describe the band''s minor-keyed, but danceable music.
