JAIRO HERNANDEZ : Born in Río Frío, Valle del Cauca province, Colombia. Jairo has a degree in music from the University of Valle and is one of the founders of the original Voces Libres musical group that dates back to 1981. Throughout his career he has excelled and stood out as a composer. This was evident when one of his compositions was part of the repertoire with which the group earned first place in the instrumental vocal category at Colombia’s prestigious Mono Nuñez National Festival in 1982. Jairo is a self-taught master of the harp. His dedication and love of the instrument has enabled him to perform a wide range of folkloric music from South America. In addition, this musical maestro also performs the twelve-string Colombian tiple, the four-string cuatro, acoustic guitar, bass, the South American charango, the Mexican requinto, the Colombian-Venezuelan bandola, flute, percussion instruments and keyboard.
His passion for music has no end. It is for this reason that with the great creativity love, patience and dedication that have always characterized him, Jairo has compiled this CD that offers an instrumental travelogue showcasing the beautiful music of Latin America for the long-awaited enjoyment of his public.

Nacido en Río Frío, Valle del Cauca, Jairo es licenciado en música de la Universidad del Valle, Colombia y es uno de los fundadores del grupo Voces Libres desde su inicio en 1981. A lo largo de su carrera musical se ha destacado como compositor. Como evidencia de esto, uno de sus temas musicales formó parte del repertorio con el cual la agrupación musical fue premiada en el prestigioso Festival Nacional Mono Núñez de Ginebra, Valle en el año 1982 en la modalidad instrumental vocal. Jairo aprendió a interpretar el arpa de forma autodidacta. Su dedicación y amor al instrumento le ha permitido interpretar con maestría diferentes ritmos del folclor suramericano. Además ejecuta con propiedad diferentes instrumentos como el tiple, el cuatro, guitarra, bajo, charango, requinto, bandola, flauta traversa, percusión y teclado.
Su pasión por la música no tiene limites. Es por esta razón que con paciencia, creatividad y amor se sentó a realizar este CD logrando un recorrido por los senderos de la bella música latina en la modalidad instrumental, para el deleite de todo su publico selecto que por años lo han esperado.
