Details:
After a long hiatus, Jeff Danos aka TESTUBE returns from the outer limits of electro with the "Covert" EP, an intriguing approach at vocal-driven "experimental pop". Inspired by classic post-punk and dream pop flavors, as well as edgy contemporary electroclashers like The Faint and Goldfrapp, the act''s new EP is the second release made available by the recently formed independent label GLIM RECORDS. Intermittently composting gritty abstract rhythms and industrial glitch sampling into a slightly more accessible framework of dark shoegazer electro-pop, the "Covert" EP shows the act breaking stylistic boundaries once again.

Included on the EP are five new tracks and five stunning remixes from R010R, Digital Dirt Heads, Type001, https://www.tradebit.com, and Ptyl. Each remix pushes the new sound of TESTUBE into a new paradigm, while not completely abandoning the intentions of the originals. As a result, there''s a little something here for everyone.

"All of the remixers did a phenomenal job," commented Jeff Danos, "and I think that the diverse styles make this extended EP sound more like a robust compilation of original acts than just a handful of remixes. When you hear the DIGITAL DIRT HEADS remix, courtesy of Justin Lassen, you''ll think that Beefcake has been resurrected from the dead and sprouted wings. R010R will make your ears bleed (and your boots stomp) with his intense powernoise delivery, while https://www.tradebit.com takes the fleeting pop structure of the original and polishes it into a smooth dish of catchy electropop. The Israeli anomaly PTYL serves up a crunchy spatial revision, and TYPE001 rounds things off with a moody introspective approach that borders on darkwave bliss. I am very excited at how this EP turned out."
