When a mommy loves a daddy, sometimes they lie down together and make a little musician. A few decades ago, this happened four separate times in and around the industrial Mecca known as Detroit. And while all of those mommies and daddies ended up divorced, their spawns grew and grew (except for one who didnt grow so much). By some cosmic, karmic twist of fate, three of the four musicians met while toiling in the food service industry. Despite the fact that they all smelled like bacon grease at the end of each workday, they formed a special bond rooted in their love of all kinds of music. They formed a band called bright black with another guy named Steve, who didnt smell like bacon grease, but smoked clove cigarettes incessantly. They played at every venue in Detroit that would let them in. Eventually, Steve tired of the smell of bacon grease and left the band to pursue clove farming. Luckily, a happy guitarist named Robert Bruce was looking for a band at the exact same time. The rest is history. They went on to record some incredible music (at least in their own opinion) and even played Lollapalooza in 1995. They went on hiatus a few years back, but came to their senses and are now back to fondle your auditory faculties.
