The Toasted Western Swing Band was formed in 2007 when founding band members Steve Fortin and Steve Kostyk made a journey to Nashville Tennessee together. As they observed the expansive live music scene in Downtown Nashville, they noticed that the Texas Swing Genre was being still performed in virtually every major club venue . They noted how warmly and enthusiastically audiences embraced the genre, and they realized that this music was pure FUN. When they returned to Canada they embarked on a process of cherry picking some of Canada''s finest musicians and vocalists for their very own Texas Swing project. When they put out the call for talent, Kostyk and Fortin were delighted at the enthusiastic response, and everyone that they asked to join the band did so without hesitation or reservation! The talent roster includes 3 time Grammy Award Winner and 21 time Nominee Walter Ostanek, Grammy Award winning participant Steve Kostyk, Nashville Independent recording Artist Steve Fortin,, and recording artists Pat Fourtney, Winston James, Bill Cooper, Mike McDowell and Stan Drobnich.
Since it''s inception, the band has delighted audiences wherever they perform their signature Texas Swing repetoire and sounds. The Toasted Western Swing Bands first CD, entitled "Roots 66" is set for release on June 15, 2009. The CD will also feature award winning vocalist Angela Siracusa, who''s talent is an exceptional compliment to the Toasted Western Swing Band. Together they make a music connection that sweeps your ears off their feet, wows your musical taste buds, and will keep you asking for just one more song!
