Details:
"b.b. wolfe''s debut album "A.K.A." is a road trip through a landscape of fear, sadness, hope, and triumph. It makes you want to hop a freight train and explore the possiblilites of the world. This is traveling music. Not your typical country album, b.b.''s vocals are a mix between Arlo Guthrie and Bob Dylan. The lyrics are poetic and poignant. They strike a chord with the listener''s soul- from the part that feels despair, to the part that still has hope. From the song "Broken Ladder" to "And All" the listener is treated to an album that feels both comfortable and familiar. Like a great work of art, the guitar paints the broad strokes, while the dobro, steel guitar, and harmonica add the details that make this album rich and layered. Reminiscent of country music before it went pop, this is music to live by."
Carrie Smith - South Bend Tribune

Born Baby Boy Wolfe in Flint, Michigan, the land of General Motors, he was adopted shortly after the storks delivery and renamed. He traveled through the towns of Michigan, moving from place to place until he landed in Jackson, Michigan, less than one mile from the largest unwalled prison in the world (at least at that time). It was on prison grounds that B.B. played some of his little league baseball games. He once hit a double that won the game.

It was at 18 years of age that two tragic events occurred within six months of each other that changed B. B. ''s life forever, the death of his two friends Andy Egeler and Terry Ratliff. Andy wanted to be a poet and Terry loved to play guitar. These are the very two art forms that B. B. used to keep their memory alive. "They''ve been part of me now for quite a few years and I think they''re still with me tonight..."

When B.B. reached 21 years of age, he left Jackson behind and moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan, at one time the home of Gibson Guitar, living there until he was 26. He then moved to Southwest Michigan where he has lived and worked to present day.

Singer-songwriter, teacher, artist and potter, B.B. has discovered an oasis of friends and creative energy outside of the isolated community in which he has existed. It''s not only good to survive. It’s good to grow. And grow he did. Within the year B. B. had written nine quality songs that became his first recorded work. A. K. A. (also known as) was released in November of 2005. It has played from Oregon to Ohio, from Canada to Israel, and from Belgium to Bowling Green State University.

Joining B. B. on this album is the legendary Dan Gellert (fretless banjo, fiddle and uke), Jim Shenk (dobro and pedal steel) and Bruce Bartlett on bass.

With song in his heart and the wisdom of experience on his lips, B. B. hopes to someday hop the freight train that runs through the very heart of that town
" . . . and ride it down the track and when the morning comes again, there will be no looking back," as he makes his way to your stage, in your town.
