BLAST ROOM "Rock is Dead"

CLASSIC ROCK FOR MODERN TIMES

Based out of Western Connecticut, Blast Room was formed in 2004 and is comprised of accomplished, professional musicians. Rock is Dead is the bands debut CD released in 2006 on Generic Records and distributed by Sumthing Distributors, N.Y.C.
As well as musical diversity, the band’s songs feature powerful vocals, catchy melodies, killer guitar riffs, driving bass and thunderous drums. Their influences range from classics such as: Zeppelin, AC/DC, Hendrix, Rush, Aerosmith, along with more modern sounds of Velvet Revolver, Audioslave, Red Hot Chili Peppers. Blast Room has captured the essence of these styles and more, creating their own unique sound along the way.

ROB JACKSON – LEAD VOCAL
Lead singer Rob Jackson has recorded and performed in numerous original and cover groups throughout the tri-state area. From heavy metal to rap to alternative rock, Rob has sung in every type of venue imaginable. Ever in demand, he also sings for a popular Rush tribute band called Limelight. In 2005, they were voted “best tribute band” nationwide and were invited to play live in Toronto for thousands of fans. Rob now combines all of these vocal influences together, which he delivers with soul and attitude, making his voice the perfect match for Blast Room.

ROGER FILGATE – GUITARS, VOCALS
Since his youth, guitarist Roger Filgate has played in bands from New York to Los Angeles. During the 90’s he joined the legendary British rock group, Wishbone Ash. Having recorded several critically acclaimed albums as both guitarist and songwriter, he toured the world extensively. This led to sharing the stage with such artists as: Santana, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Guns & Roses, Yes, Blue Oyster Cult, and many more. Regarded as a virtuoso, Roger’s playing style captures the glory days of guitar heroes and is evident throughout the entire CD.

CHRIS TATALIAS – DRUMS, PERCUSSION
Drummer Chris Tatalias has a great deal of experience with both live and studio work. Solid rhythm and dynamics are the result of having played in rock bands from coast to coast and as a drummer/percussionist for several theatrical productions. With a huge drum sound reminiscent of John Bonham, and chops like that of Neil Peart, Chris is Blast Room’s powerful backbone keeping a steady groove, while including elements of progressive-rock. He brings the perfect amount of technique and hard-hitting drive that, along with his band-mates, make this a formidable standout group.

RUSTY CORSO - BASS
Like many of us, Russell (Rusty) Corso got his start in music by playing trumpet in grade school. As a young teenager he picked up his first bass, learning to play by ear, and at age 16 was already playing in clubs. Influenced early on by Motown and groups like Earth, Wind & Fire, Chicago, he later set his sights on rockers like Aerosmith, Van Halen, Chili Peppers, and King’s X. With years of countless cover and original bands to his credit, Russ comes from the “old school” of rock-solid bass playing with ‘lots’ of feel. He is a welcome new addition to the band.
