Billy Cate . . . Texas Best

Born in Texas, a true Texas cowboy. A singer, songwriter, musician and actor, all in one. Billy''s ability and versatility transcend music categories. He strikes a responsive chord among all music lovers who appreciate a rich, soothing baritone voice. This six-foot "Son of Texas" simply, but eloquently, expresses a full range of emotions through the western-style songs he sings.
Billy’s style encompasses mellow country sounds, traditional cowboy favorites -- and you ought to hear him yodel! He sings with a warmth and depth of feeling that has won him deserved acclaim in the western music field.

Billy''s career as an entertainer started early in life, about the age of 8. With a Gene Autry guitar and a 25-cent songbook he learned to sing, he learned to yodel, he learned to play the guitar and ride a horse all about the same time. He loved music and loved the people that would listen to him sing. He loved his schoolmates and would often entertain them at school. He loved going to the movies on Saturdays to see his favorite cowboy heroes - Hopalong Cassidy, Tom Mix, Lash LaRue, and the Durango Kid - and of course, the singing cowboys, Gene Autry and Roy Rogers. He perfected his yodeling by listening to Elton Britt and Slim Whitman on the radio. To him, these cowboy entertainers along with Eddy Arnold, Marty Robbins and The Sons of the Pioneers were some of the greatest.

Billy built his career singing popular music at clubs and private parties throughout the Southwest United States, but never forgot the cowboy music that was in his heart. Now, he keeps the Old West and cowboy music alive not only by performing in these venues, but also in his own western setting, called Chisholm Town, that he and his wife built on the Old Chisholm Trail in central Texas. In the mid 1800''s, cowboys drove millions of longhorn cattle up the Chisholm Trail on their way from San Antonio to Abilene, Kansas. Billy and his wife Carolyn live in a log house there on the trail near the river where cowboys camped and bedded the cattle down for the night.

Dedicated to the tradition of cowboy music, Billy Cate is one of the finest entertainers of today, and he is destined to remain a favorite among western cowboy music fans.

From Billy Cate to all of you - May God bless you and may all the trails you ride be happy ones.
