Details:
The Baron extends his welcome on behalf of the entire crew of the Redd Zeppelin. Thanks for listening to our first-class Rock for children. We hope you enjoy the fruits of our labor as much as we’ve enjoyed learning about this music you call rock and roll. The truth is we’ve been marooned here for several years, far from our musical home on Euphonia. Nobody seems to believe that however, so here’s our cover story:

The Baron is really Tray Batson. He’s a Music Therapist who’s worked with children in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, NC since 2000. The Baron’s songs were developed in Tray’s therapy practice, and were designed to teach musical and academic concepts, to encourage self-expression, feeling cool, and group and solo gyration. He’s very fortunate to have talented friends. The crack rhythm section of Anson Pance and Bizy Backson are none other that Ken Mosher and Tom Maxwell, who slummed a few years with a combo called the SQUIRREL NUT ZIPPERS. Humble guitarist Peebo Flash is really amp guru Steve Carr, purveyor of the tastiest boutique tube amps we’ve heard. Auxiliary battery artist Vik Vektor earns $ by day as Brunson Hoole, Managing Editor at local ALGONQUIN PRESS. The super silky Lulu La Li is the multi-talented Kathleen Batson, visual artist, teacher and wife to Tray.

RIDE THE REDD ZEPPELIN features unabashed song-writing sucker punch, combining child-friendly themes and generous doses of humor to engage kids and empower them to rock on their own terms. The Baron leads his audience on an interactive listening experience incorporating Who-like bombast, alt-country, funk and synthetic new wave textures. The musicianship is top notch, the production is rockin’, and the songs are unselfconscious and spirited, as you’ll hear. “RIDE” is principally targeted towards Earth-young aged 2-8, but live performances attest to the appeal of the Baron to parents and other sundry grown-ups.

We invite you on board, and hope that you will help us spread the music throughout your portion of the galaxy. ROCK LIKE A ROBOT!!
