So begins the first track on Homeland Insecurity and also the adventures (mis-adventures) of the newly appointed government agency, The Bureau of Homeland Insecurity (BHI). Listen and follow along with the exploits of the band as they fumble through the responsibilities of their day gig as special agents protecting our nation’s psychological freedoms and well being. A (not always) good natured jab in the ribs to our government, social norms, and the band themselves; Homeland Insecurity is a non-stop musical assault on the status quo…with a sense of humor.
On Homeland Insecurity, Psoma once again teamed up with long time friend, engineer, and co-producer Chad Bamford (Weezer, AFI, Perry Farrell, Spiritualized) to record their heaviest and most ambitious album to date. Boasting blistering rock riffs that demand comparisons to GnR, Foo Fighters, and Disturbed, Homeland Insecurity lays down a hard line of great songs, deep booming rhythms, and no-nonsense vocals that will kick you in the ass and leave you shouting for more.
Originally formed in, gasp, 1999! Psoma has truly endured the test of time. Fresh off tour with such bands as Nerf Herder and the Rentals, Psoma’s frontman, Justin Fisher, hooked up with drummer Marc Blitstein and bassist Pete Novitch through their mutual friends in Lagwagon. Not long after, lead guitarist Iain Wade was added to the mix and for the last ten years Psoma has been unleashing their blend of heavy rock and introspective songwriting at backyard bar-b-ques, dingy dives, uber-hip trend setting clubs, the prestigious rock venues on “The Sunset Strip”, Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tucson, Austin, New York, and even Europe and the UK!
