This is the vibe of Sacramento''s new band, Blvd Park. The songs are all originals. The music is a cross between bluegrass, rock, folk swing and blues. A stand-up bass, guitar, trumpet, fiddle, and the occasional mandolin, steel guitar or banjo, make up the composition of the group. Four to five part harmonies make up the vocals, with both male and female contribution and leads.

Blvd Park began as an off-shoot of Brian Ballentine''s band, "Nevada Backwards". Brian''s poetic, haunting lyrics and gravelly voice are unpretentious, raw, and unforgettable. Combine the rough quality of Brian''s voice with the smooth and beautiful echoing call of the ladies, Elise Suttie and Tekla Waterfield Austin; you have a very dynamic balance; both masculine and feminine. Original band member, Timmy Conroy chimes in on background vocals as well as providing melody riffs on the trumpet and melodica. (You''ll hear his and the ladies beautiful voices spotlighted more in Blvd Park''s next album.) Playing from the age of four, Guinness Harley''s fiddle riffs add a distinctive bluegrass feel to the mix. Jarrett Mason and Beau James Brown keep the rhythm solid and strong with the upright bass and snare drum. Adding to the depth of Blvd Park''s vibe is the multi-instrumentalist Mick Stevenson on the mandolin, banjo and slide guitar.
