PRESS RELESE:

Los Angeles singer/songwriter and recording artist AARON WOLFSON has just released his “AARON WOLFSON” CD. Aaron has worked on recording sessions as a guitarist for many top music professionals including: Jimmy Haskell - music arranger for (Sheryl Crow); Michael Masser - producer for (Whitney Houston); David Paich (TOTO); John Jessel (TOTO & Van Halen); Shirly Brewer (Stevie Wonder); Mike Kowolski (the Beach Boys), Joe Travers (Duran Duran), and has written and recorded with Peter Rafelson (Madonna; Elton John; Britney Spears.)

The CD, features Aaron on guitar and vocals. He produced the recording with Dave Jenkins (Tori Amos; Elton John; Metallica); who engineered and mixed; and Richie Onori (Richie Sambora; Kelly Hansen; Glen Hughes) played the drums.

The music is guitar based, alternative rock music. Simple, straight forward songs, in the tradition of Tom Petty, Dylan, U2, and James Blunt. There is also an improvisational aspect to Aaron Wolfson’s music and shows; like Carlos Santana or Dave Matthews; that add excitement for the audiences.

AARON''S DESCRIPTION OF STYLE AND INFLUENCES:
As an artist, I would describe my music as Blues influenced Alternative Rock music, in the tradition of Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles, Led Zepplin, the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Elmore James, the Doors, Santana, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Sheryl Crow. I also seem to think and write in creative ways similar to U2, Coldplay, and Radiohead; trying to create interesting textural and modern ambient elements as a way of expanding what I am striving to express in my song lyrics and melodies. I write about things that are real and from experience, and hopefully meaningful to people in their lives. I have a great love of playing the guitar, and have an improvisational aspect to my music. This is the most profound and real way to get people feeling fully alive, as creation is occurring in each new moment of life. And that which is beyond all time is revealed there when we are playing at our best. I would describe my song "You Can Run But You Can''t Hide" as: A portrait of life in Hollywood about inner truthfulness. My other tracks are more alternative sounding, and deal with. . . . . (more to come).

HISTORY:
Began playing piano at 4 years old; switched to guitar at 10, started in my first band around that time. Played at my 6th grade graduation. Had a band in Jr Highschool and another band in Highschool, playing concerts. Worked in music stores, taught guitar, moved on to demo sessions, and then real recording sessions with many great professionals; (some listed above).

LIVE:
Played many shows, casuals, parties, bars, colleges, the Whisky, the Roxy, etc. Studied music most of my life; privately, in college, in music school and with seasoned professionals. I''ve been writng music and songs since I was 10. My first recording contract came from one of my student''s father sending my tape to Warner Bros. Records, resulting in a small independant contract with ABA Enterprises. My second contract happend while I was playing in a band (Idle Hands), fronted by John Lyons, the bass player from Tommy Tu-tone (867-5309. ) We were supposed to get signed by Atlantic Records, and at the same time I was offered a deal by Writers Quarters West which was owned by Stevie Wonder. I was given a contract to work as a writer and producer. Meanwhile, I was given another serious offer by Ivy Productions which seemed to have the most opportunity to advance my music career, and thus the deal I signed. The result has been that each of these successes have given important progress and experience which have prepaired me for where I now am; with a first rate catalogue of material, new masters recorded, and abilities in delivering it live with outstanding musicians.

INSTRUMENTS AND EQUIPMENT:
The new songs were recorded digitally by Dave Jenkins. We used some Neve mic pres, some rare German compressors and EQs (the type the Beatles used), a red Marshall amp from the guitar player from Heart, a Carvin Legacy amp from Steve Vai; Eventide 3000 Harmonizer, some vintage Fender Teles and P-Bass, Ovation and Taylor acoustic guitars, a Jackson strat, an E-Bow, Line 6 Pod; a Randall Commander 100 watt amp that the guitar player from Van Morrison turned me on to; a Roland 3000 delay, a Digitec RP 100; Shure, ATA, Rode mics, DW drums played by Richie Onori. Dave played percussion.

APPRECIATION:
Thank you to all the people who have helped me to advance with my music over the years; my friends, family, and fans. I very much appreciate and will always remember in my soul, all the good you have done for me.
