Finally, a band that doesn''t retreat into the tired well of angst and despair yet still exudes passion, power, and rock and roll sexiness.

Details:
Sometimes, breaking up is good to do. By December of 1999, Joe Henry had just written his first songs, inspired by the messy demise of a relationship. Literally armed only with "three chords and the truth" writing the first album, the fledgling guitarist displayed a keen sense of melody and bracingly honest lyricism.

Corralling his younger brother Derek to take up keyboards, Joe set his sights on recording the tunes just for art''s sake. The Henry brothers enlisted childhood friend and former cover-band mate Scott Boaz to play drums. Of course, there was the matter of convincing him to charge a kit on his credit card as he was on a two-year hiatus from playing.

From these seemingly unlikely beginnings sprung the first album, "Who''s Laughing Now", a raw but energetic record of unabashed garage pop. Inspired by the positive reception to their record, Adam''s Attic began to play as many live shows as they could book.

Despite its ragged production values (owing to the whopping 15 hours spent tracking it), WLN caught the attention of alternative radio industry veteran, Christian Unruh (former Program/Music Director of WZRH 106.1 The Zephyr and https://www.tradebit.com), whose ability to "hear a hit" is now unquestioned. Unruh directed former Deadeye Dick frontman, Caleb Guillotte, towards the young trio. Guillotte first saw the band at a dive bar during the height of the New Orleans carnival season in 2001, thus, began the partnership that has now produced "Adam''s Attic", the band''s eponymous second release.

The music is now as nuanced and compelling as Joe Henry''s vocal melodies and as passionate and revelatory as his lyrics. The last year and a half has also allowed the band to focus their unbridled enthusiasm into a tight, energetic live show that thrives on Adam''s Attic''s refreshingly positive worldview. Finally, a band that doesn''t retreat into the tired well of angst and despair yet still exudes passion, power, and rock and roll sexiness...

About the Record:
"Superman" has everything a great pop song needs: a compelling vocal, a hummable chorus and an overarching theme that anyone can relate to in one-way or another. The wall of guitars and irresistible beat don''t hurt either. "You" is even catchier and more energetic, utilizing an almost punk-rock intensity to propel it''s uplifting message forward, while "Walk Away" crams in more hooks per second than the law probably allows. Don''t peg this band as just a bouncy rock band; "Higher", "Today", and "Ode to Maria" are three distinctly different types of ballads offering the listener Counting Crows like Americana pop to the high-wattage power of the best by Fuel. The final track, "Your Eyes", is no afterthought filler; reminiscent of War era U2, this tune will insinuate itself into your brain and refuse to leave.
