Alice Haines is a celebration of Australian cultural identity and diversity. Her professional career has seen her performing at the very foundation of Indigenous Music and Theatre for over 15 years.

Alice''s performances have been recorded in history books and also on the ABC and SBS. She has won awards and been granted scholarships in recognition of her talent.

The launch of her debut album, "MATTER OF TIME", is a celebration of Alice''s journey. Her audience reaches far beyond the Indigenous population of Australia as her personal style has a truly global appeal.

She is a seasoned singer, performer and songwriter, now turned producer. She is presently producing a collaborative work, "WOMEN''S BUSINESS", which was covered by the ABC on George Negus Tonight.

In 1989 she secured one of the lead roles in Jimmy Chi''s acclaimed musical hit "Bran Nu Dae" and again in 1993, both productions led to sell out tours in Australia.

Alice was lead vocal and bass player for "Acoustic Dreaming" who in 1999 won the West Australian Music Industry Award for Best Indigenous Act (WAMI).

Her performances have been complimented by both screen and stage where she has achieved international success. For the 2001 Perth International Arts Festival she produced and performed in her self-titled production "ALICE", which then toured to Melbourne Festival. In 2001 "ALICE" was performed in the Brazilian "Cultura Inglesa Festival San Paolo", where she was heralded as the "Australiano Princesso". Also in 2001 for the International Film Festival she landed the lead role in "Serenades", as an Afghan Aboriginal. Alice delivered a mesmerising performance and the camera loved her.


Alice''s high standards have been influenced and developed through a history of involvement with Australian Musical legends. Performing on stage along side Midnight Oil, Crowded House, Shane Howard )Goanna Band) and Paul Kelly. With Kev Carmody she performed, recorded and appeared in film clips.

Alice performed with "Mixed Relations" for 5 years, who amongst their notoriety were the band to officially open JJJ. They were alwo the first band to be officially signed by a major label Polydor/Polygram and performed live on Andrew Denton, twice.

Alice has been the support act for Jimmy Cliff, "The Wailers" (Bob Marley), Archie Roach and toured with "Coloured Stone". Her first musical recordings were with Christine Anu and they also shared their first 2 bands together. Alice has sung live on the Steve Vizard Show with Neil Murray and was also interviewed by Steve for Bran Nue Day. She has appeared in numerous Film Clips eg. 3x Kev Carmody, 1x Tiddlers 2x Mixed Relations.

Alice has been involved with political issues in Australia and globally and performed in various political concerts such as ''Rock Against Racism'', "Building Bridges", "Rock for Land Rights" and numerous Survival concerts.


EDUCATION
* Granted a scholarship for Professional Development for Musical Production with the Australian Film and TV School in Sydney. This course was tailor made for Alice (2004).
* Received a scholarship to West Australian Performing Arts College (WAAPA) Conservatorium of Music for 2 years.
* ABMUSIC Associate Diploma in Music for 3 years.
* Teaching Certificate for Music
* National Aboriginal Dance Theatre in Sydney for 2 years whilst performing in ''Mixed Relations'' (NAISDA)
