Leave Your Light On is the sound of Aloud leaving garage rock in the garage.
After self-releasing a handful of raw-sounding EPs in the past, the band puts its best foot forward on their debut full-length. Leave Your Light On shows the growth of a band coming into its own, with the help of producer Hugh Wyman. They stretch their creative muscles further, drawing from records like Rubber Soul, (What''s the Story) Morning Glory?, and The Joshua Tree.
For the Boston-area band that''s been together since 2002, it''s also a new beginning.
"In a lot of ways what the album is for us is letting your guard down a little more," says lead vocalist and guitarist Henry Beguiristain. The 11 tracks on the album were co-written by Beguiristain and lead vocalist/guitarist Jen de la Osa, who echoes those sentiments.
"We can just be who we are at present," she says. "I think we''re finally comfortable with ourselves."
Aloud''s relatively young members radiate a refreshing tenacity and mature work ethic. De la Osa and Beguiristain lead the band with a dual-frontperson approach. Their contrasting voices and powerful harmonies characterize Aloud''s unique vocal style, which rests atop the extraordinary interplay between drummer Ross Lohr and bassist/backing vocalist Roy Fontaine.
Aloud delivers their music with all guns firing.
