Carl Smith bio............
He has been known to talk to birds. They have been known to talk back. Carl once told me, "Whoooooob?" and I believed him. Carl speaks the truth most of the time so I wouldn''t doubt it. Carl''s been saying stuff like that ever since I''ve known him. He even knows what an "eaglecrasher" is! Carl is one of those rare guitarists whose playing is always a direct extension of what he happens to be thinking at any given moment - and that can be pretty interesting! His solos have been known to make people laugh, cry and think of their Science Fiction Grandmas all at once. So the next time Carl tells you, "Whebee Chebee" you''d better pay attention!
Brian Wengrofsky bio.............
Brian is the only guitar player I know who can rock the Jobim mildness and wear a space-helmet in honor of Arthur Brown without disrespecting either of those two great pillars of modern sound. Brian is the Great Flaming Beard with the Streaming Toilet Paper in the Sky. He knows how to make peanut butter jars dance. Really! He is the musical equivalent of a Kwol Brash. And he knows all about the "Peter Frampton Factor". Yes he does. And he is the originator of the "Beach Boys Roller Coaster Acid Trip" song - I recall that he was laughing so hard he had to cling onto Jenny Gerbi''s staircase railing for dear life!
Chris Kaiser bio.............
Chris has been pummeling the living daylights out of drums since he was eight years old. Having lived through various past lives, he can''t recall with accuracy how he wound up where he is, but he''s always been from Ceiling anyway so it doesn''t really matter. Chris tries to keep up with the other two Ceiling Masters as best he can, but usually he ends up quoting from the "First Book of Herb Albert" or something................
Jenny Gerbi.............
..........was the only REAL bass player the Soupmobile ever had. We''ve decided not to bother trying to replace her so all other bass players on the CD are making guest appearances in her absence. Hey Jenny! If you''re out there.............do you still have your bass? Alright - it''ll be "Psychedelic Child" into "Hippie Queen" - okay????? One, two, three, FOUR!...........
Paul Madory.............
............currently resides in the "where are you now" category. Paul happens to be a very serious musician on the electric violin. And it was his enthusiasm which sparked the Soupmobile going into a real studio in the first place. He adds some very cool organ to Science Fiction Grandma. Paul - I''m sorry your distinctive laugh didn''t make it on the final version of the track! Drop us a line, man!
John Grznich.............
..............better known to his fans as "Aliel Straa". John is an enigma wrapped in a puzzle wrapped in another enigma. I''ll never forget recording "For Heaven''s Sake" at his folk''s house at EAR-SPLITTING volume all those years ago. Currently the keeper of "Bic-Ba".
Eammon Martin............
................is hopefully the right spelling of his name! He is also a current resident of "where are you now". Eammon played with some very cool bands years ago and had a great style all his own. It was an honor to have him play on the album! Hey Eammon - Matt wants to know if you''ve still got "Cavendish"! Heh heh! Once again, if you''re out there....................
Ken Masten...............
The renowned guitarist from Iron Glove makes a rare guest appearance adding some great tone-shredding and string-bending to "Arctic". Ken is currently keeping the flame for blues great Hollywood Fats and working out with the nifty blues combo Bluesmatic also featuring Chris on drums!
Matt Gilleece............
Playwright. Songwriter. Philosopher. All-around goofy-footer. Known to levitate when inspired. Matt is currently playing with his band T-7 which is a very groovy, free-wheeling rocking combo from NYC. Keep on the lookout for T-7 - they''ve been known to do a great version of Science Fiction Grandma too!
Mark Boyland............
Mark is currently plotting to change the course of musical history. Ever heard of the Beatles? Well if you think THEY had impact - you ain''t seen NOTHING yet folks! Soon, the world over will be calling out "Markbarkbarkbookmarkbarkmarkbark!" Go ahead - laugh! You just wait and see! Mark laughs last! Ha! (told you so)
