This Katy, Tx. song writer ranges his story telling from the red hot title track "I Wasn''t Born In Texas" to his life threatning, alcohol induced fall from grace and subsequent recovery in "Three Chords and a Bad Memory". Also included is a powerful, touching tribute to victims of hurricane Katrina and the beautifully produced Christmas track "Pennies Come From Heaven" which could very well be slated for chart status in the 2006 Christmas season. A great two stepping tune "I Hate To Leave You Baby", and the high and lonesome "Sing Me Back To Texas" plus an acoustic tribute to his beloved honky tonk heroes with "Outlaws Make The World Go Round". These songs have made Dave a favorite with the Texas ice house crowds. These are small, open air Texas bars which incidentally are among his favorite places to just hangout, play his tunes, and make new friends and fans.
