MP3 Dope Robot - Analog Clockwork
An upbeat album that features many electronic styles and includes covers of the Eurythmics and Aphex Twin. The music is by turns instrumental and vocal, and does a great job of pulling the listener along with tight song structures and interesting sounds.

This album was recorded using analog sound sources almost exclusively, which is indicated by the title of the album. Many of the songs, and especially the ones with vocals, follow a more typical song based approach than some other meandering electronic tracks. In many ways, this is a traditional album, just recorded with electronic instruments. The instrumental tracks have a soundtrack-type feel and one ("pulsejam5") was featured in the movie "The Dangers of Dreaming" during a pivotal action sequence, giving the scene mood and establishing a presence that draws the listener into the drama of the situation. This album also has a first, as far as the artist knows--a cover of Aphex Twin''s "Actium" from one of his early albums. He noticed that there simply don''t seem to be many electronic cover versions of classic electronic songs coming out and sought to fill that void. (There are, however, ''acoustic'' covers of Aphex Twin songs by Senor Coconut and other similar groups.) The artist hopes to continue this practice on future albums.
The songs don''t hew to a single style. "daybreak", "drug-happy", and "sweet dreams" have some techno influences while "foundations", "Don''t Run" and "night" display more electro influences. However, there is still a cohesive feel, as the listener comes to realize that there is a thread going through all the tracks that is in some part due to the all-analog instrumentation.
