Ethan Edwards is poised to conquer the pop music industry with his smooth voice, soulful melodies and passionate determination, but the road to the top for the singer-songwriter has been anything but orthodox.
Born the son of a preacher man, Ethan’s childhood was spent all over America, in rural countrysides as well as inner city ghettos, exposing him to a variety of musical cultures and growing him into a tall drink of water with dreams to match. Endowed with diverse athletic skills, Ethan was particularly proficient in basketball and was encouraged to pursue a career in the NBA and use his skillful motivation to score points on the court.
Ethan found his future on a basketball court, but not in the way he or his supporters expected. Always a lover of song with an alluring voice, he was asked to sing the national anthem before one of his biggest collegiate games. Ethan nailed it, delivering a dynamic performance that set the stands on fire. More importantly, however, this life-changing experience lit a flame in his own heart for a career in music, a burning passion that consumes him to this day.
With a big change of plans and an even bigger dream in mind, Ethan headed to Nashville to learn to write songs. His natural ability sparked the interest of music mogul Desmond Child who encouraged Ethan to come to Miami, and he soon found himself poised to break into the business. There he began modeling professionally to support himself, and his classic good looks landed the singer on magazine covers and took him down runways from Paris to South America. Always keeping his focus on music, Ethan jumped at any chance and onto many stages to display his obvious vocal talents and honed his performance skills in front of a global audience. Dripping with charisma, displaying a sexy style, and boasting an expressive voice that unfailingly conveys his love for music, Ethan was soon being courted by several major record labels.
Eventually signing with Island Def Jam Records in New York, Ethan gained invaluable experience working with many of the industry’s top producers such as Scott Storch, Timbaland, Brian McKnight and Stargate. Armed with the knowledge of how to write and produce songs, Ethan’s ultimate vision steered him onto a different path. He has chosen to pursue his calling independently, a decision that requires more hard work and integrity but will no doubt result in greater rewards for the singer and his audience. Ethan now walks this road less traveled with inspiring dedication to spread love and a steadfast desire to share his passion with the world, and that has made all the difference.
Ethan Edwards began a sweeping tour of South America in January of 2010 to promote his new album, self-titled and due for release this summer. A man of many backgrounds and even more futures, Ethan will be lighting up stands with his undeniable talents and magnetism, gleaned from a lifetime of music and performance experience and supported by the ever-burning fire in his heart.
