With some great cover tunes from the likes of Johnny Cash and Townes Van Zandt it also contains several songs from the award winning skills of song crafter Eddie Swann, with help from some of his best friends, Jim Stover, Ruthie Steele, Pickle Eaves, and Ron Weathers.
The acoustic instruments beckon the ear to a journey of fun, freedom, heartache and love with crystal clear guitar performances by Eddie Swann and Eddie Satterfield. The lack of electric guitars and drum kit is welcome in this unplugged and totally acoustic style which includes an occasional five string banjo in the background.
Produced by band member Eddie Swann who, brings many years of experience in studio production sweetens some of the songs with digital orchestrations, percussion and other more unusual string instruments.
Vocals are spread out among band members, Eddie, Linda and Robert each bringing their own experience blending like a loom with their individual threads of achievement. A leather sharp razor would be needed to separate the harmonies woven deep through the vocal performances.
If you’re looking for something like an “American Idle” performance you likely won’t enjoy this, but if you want a listening experience that you can keep in your CD changer for years to come this is it.
