This record was written, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Shawn Malloy from the months of December 2009 to February 2010. This record was mainly created to be promoted and digitally sold in efforts to raise funds for the reproduction of Shawn Malloy''s two other tentative releases, "Corridors," and "Dance Party Extinction." The Furniture album is comprised of 12 high energy, high inertia, hard hitting rock/pop songs that feature elements of prog, pop punk, death metal, hardcore, 80''s new wave, 80''s pop, space rock, ambient, and dance music. Malloy''s musical influences include everything from prog rock legends Rush to the king of pop Michael Jackson to art grindcore icons Discordance Axis and everything outside and in between. From start to finish, a diverse array of distinct musical styles are unconsciously woven together and melded by monster hooks, catchy vocal lines, and memorable straight-to-the-point song structures. The Furniture album greatly showcases and previews the musical possibilities to come from the multi-faceted, multi-talented, multi-instrumentalist that is Shawn Malloy.
