Hello, this is Vanessa Beggs, (of Vanessa and Her Many Moons). This album, Full, is our debut into the world. We have all been making music for some time independently, and continue to do so, but this is my most triumphant effort so far in the business of music. Personally it means very much to me to finally have had the courage to follow through, to be okay enough with what I have to offer to actually have made a product. I''m proud to delivery it and honored people are being moved.
Full is a culmination of songs that I''ve had from different parts of my life- it fits together like a collage of various and very differing phases of life, much more so than the forthcoming albums. For instance, Full has a few new wave/punk inspired songs that are an anthem for a very specific upbeat more assertive time I was having, manic with love for another music student. There are songs about the despair of negotiating with dark desires as well as prayerful chants to Mother Moon. This album incorporates songs from when I first lived alone as a young woman and the excitement that brought as well as intense confrontations with severe mood swings. It involves my brief and fairly safe exploration with some drugs. Included in this song collage are stories my stay in a psych ward, and the journey as I left that building behind forever. While simple, bittersweet ballads seemed to be birthed from an entirely different life I was living two years later. A world of a new love and my commitment to let something work. Finally, the last track on the album, When We Die, simplest of all- just organ and voice, is the most recently written song and is a projection into the future; I am singing to husband when he passes after we have grown old together.
