Details:
The Hard Reality was formed in 2007 by Jim Berlo & brothers Matt & Anthony Lore. The band began recording in 2008 at Jims new studio (thanks Muma!), familiarizing themselves with the new diggs & the new processes to be used. Then the writing came. It was decided to draw from a diverse blend of influences, from rock, blues, jazz, big band, fusion and classical, equally contributing to each idea brought to the table and collaborated on by all 3 band members. "A Reason for Everything" was completed in late 2009.

Matt and Jim have been working musically on and off since high school with a host of friends and have performed for many years before taking a break for life and families. Jim and the boys were playing with older Lore brother, drummer, Mike Lore, who at that time went off to CA to march in championship drum and bugle corps, including top drums and 2 runner ups at DCI National Championships and followed up with teaching A-60 Drum Corps.

Jim played with a host of friends including bassist Dave Forte, Dave " Loafy" Cochran, Bily "Chappy" Chapman, Tim Dymyk for several years after that in the ''80s with Matt Lore as the new drummer who pursued set drumming after a few years in drum & bugle corps. Matt also played in several rock bands in the early 80s''. The new band with Matt and Jim and the rest would be known as TWT, The Four Skins, DickDork and the Dilemma or whatever name they chose for a gig. The song list full of wild originals such as: Factory Chump, Texture 111, Suzy Slushpants and The Lebenese Earthworm Boogie. These originals were mixed with improvisation and peppered with covers the likes of Zappa, Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Robin Trower , Alex Harvey, Beefheart, Bowie, Pink Floyd, Allman Brothers, The Beatles and even Power House from the old Warner Bros. cartoons to Blues & Jazz standards. Not exactly your average 80s'' cover band!

Jim & Matt collaborated on band name "FUPDUK" in 1995 with bassist and very old friends Dave Forte and Dave "Loafy" Cochran, who started out as Jims friends, playing together in their early teens becoming proficient in their playing while influenced by diverse styles of music. The CD, Skip the Foreplay, was recorded in a basement studio booth of Jim Berlo''s design using various techniques from 4 track analog to ADAT. Jim was the main engineer and primary writer, with one original named "Need" by Matt & Jim, with some engineering and writing assistance by Matt. Jim, Matt, Dave Forte, with guest appearances by Dave "Loafy" Cochran, guitar and Rita Tolman, vocals on "Conscience". The rest of the basement was standard open framing with insulation, concrete floors. We bolted overheads for the drums to the ceiling rafters, laid out carpet and covered the oil tank with packing blankets and began "Skip the Foreplay". A hard edged, twisting, turning ride of diverse styles ending in an epic original finale about pushing the limits of all things good and bad and the results of human intervention and arrogance, aptly called "Push it". It was the bands first complete recording venture. The CD was popular but only sold locally.

Anthony Lore, six years Matt''s younger brother, all the earlier mentioned years studied guitar from an early age and worked hard at many styles of playing, later attaining his BA in fine Art . Eventually jamming with boys on occasion, impressing them with his wide array of skills and understanding of music structure, ie: able to pick up on "Day Tripper" in 11/8! He also played in several live R&B bands. He came on board in 2007 as a primary in The Hard Reality.
