Shortly after my son Lucas’ birth, my friend Amanda told me the sound of a hair dryer was the only thing that would stop her crying when she was a newborn. So, when a nasty bout of crying erupted at our house, after much frustration, I grabbed my wife Heather’s hair dryer, turned it on full blast, and placed it next to Lucas.
