This is an album that was born out a sense of longing. The album and the songs on it had been in the works for a year or two but when I left the country and moved to Europe it seemed to have come out alot easier. The nomadic perspective that being away from home offered was what I needed to make this work. Once my environment changed I was able to find comfort in lyrics and music that I had questioned previously. It seemed as though I sacrificed my social comforts but in return developed a musical niche.
Once I came back home a year later I was ready to record this EP and within a year of my return it was complete. The album is short and emcompasses how I felt about family, relationships and where I stood in relation to those things. It was a personal project, lyrics I needed to get off my chest. Originally ten songs were recorded for the album but ultimately I decided to focuss on what I felt were the stronger songs as well as 6 songs that were the most unique within my style of music, writing and composition. Every song has a nostalgic appeal and the tracks invariably describe all to common occasions that pop up in life and certainly the things that most people think of when are away for a while. Making the same mistake over and over again. The advice offered to you by people that seem to know more. Simple story telling and just for good measure a song written in the style of sexy revenge. This album is raw and it was done on purpose as a first release it was meant to accessible. It''s stripped down and easy to circumnavigate front to back.
