The music and words within these tracks are gifts from GOD himself. As a child, I attended church and always enjoyed the good news in gospel music. Actually, the word gospel means good news. I remember at about the age of four or five, my sister and myself sang together in church, however I do not remember many people in the congregation, probably because I could not see over the pulpit. But I did enjoy singing those songs, and I did see smiles on the faces of the ones listening. That in itself let me know that they enjoyed the gospel too.
However ,things didn''t remain that way for long, it wasn''t at any fault of my church, it was myself, I lost interest in church and the gospel. I spent many years in pursuit of self. Totally abandoning the purpose of GOD in my life. Seeking happiness and peace of mind outside of GOD, I found none.
The results were nil, in all I would say that the better part of thirty years was wasted running from GOD.
Then suddenly at the age of thirty two, I, for the first time ever witnessed that the trees changed colors each season, therein lies the revelation and the gospel that my life was about to change as did the trees. That season I had been trapped in for twenty eight years had finally come to an end, and a new season had just begun.
Shortly thereafter I began attending church at Christian Brotherhood church in Jacksonville,Al.
There I started playing guitar, as I began learning guitar, all those sad country songs that I had listened to in years past had left me with a desire to play country music, but country music with a gospel message. Some of my favorites were people like Hank JR., George Jones, and Strait, Waylon and Willie, Brad Paisley, and of course the Hag. Country music had become a passion of mine and I enjoyed it deeply.
While attending church, reading, studying, and doing GOD''s word, I found that we have some gospel to share with each person which we come into contact with. After the span of six or eight months I began to write some things down and strum along on a pawn shop guitar that I purchased for a few bucks. I loved the gospel, and I loved country music. So with that said, I began writing songs and singing in keys that did not exist. The word says faith without works is dead, it takes practice, a lot of practice.
As previously said, I enjoyed the old traditional gospel, but I wanted something just a little different. The gospel came to my mind by the word of GOD, and the country music came to my mind by the word of the guitar. I learned that I wanted something with a side of humor ,because GOD knows the world could certainly use a whole lot more of that in times like these, Solemon said ,A merry heart doeth good like a medicine. So, I wanted to create something that brought forth a good news message with a bluegrass beat.
The songs just came together ,one right after the other as they continue to do. It''s a little bit country, a little bit churchy, and a whole lot of gospel!!!!!!!!!!!! I truly hope Christians everywhere will enjoy listening to the messages that lie within each line.
