A dual specialist in the douçaine and bass clarinet, Aage Nielsen has performed in Denmark, Iceland, Holland and throughout the United States as a founding member of Darkwood Consort, which he founded in 1992. For Douçaine among Friends, his first solo effort, Aage brings the extremely rare douçaine to the forefront in medieval and early modern works from Denmark, Cyprus, Italy, Spain, France, and Germany.
