Details:
"Live Under Big Roof" was recorded following Joseph John''s 2003 U.S. tour and just at the start of the 2004 touring season. The amazing line-up of Scott Felton on Guitar, Will Mack on Bass, and Demtri Matsis on drums, rounds out an impressive cast of musicianship finalized by Joseph John''s Piano playing, acoustic guitar playing, and singing. Experiencing this album will take you through roughly half of their normal live show, allowing you to experience the ups and downs, dancing trips, and heartfelt emotions contrived night after night by these all-stars of music.

"Million Miles From Kearney" is a love poem written for a friend and town in Kearney, Nebraska. While it is piano driven through most of the song, there is always a lot of musicianship going in this band. This tune kicks you in the gut and leaves you wondering what is next. Well...what is next is "Better Man," recorded here much slower than performed live by the end of their tour. It features the amazing guitar solo work of Scott Felton. "So Beautiful" is one of the few straight ahead rock songs on this CD. It''s a refreshing break from the usual jams to just take in a song and relax. Track 4, "Must Be Something More" takes you seamlessly through different time-signatures, feels, styles, and tempos. The average listen will just enjoy and be entertained, but the musician will be impressed at how they use their instruments and time to craft this song.

A big break in this set is "Crazy," written by both Joseph John and Will Mack. This song proves to be the one everyone always sings along with in concert. It has become a favorite ring tone for many! "Regret" slowly takes us back up to speed with a nice acoustic guitar groove set in 7/4 time that explodes into an all out jam, again featuring Scott Felton, at the end. "Sweet Willie''s Groove" (also written with Will Mack) features solos on the Rhodes keyboard, Electric Guitar, and finally an extended drum solo from Dimitri Matsis which leads the song into "Don''t Want You Around," a Latin rock gem that is always a crowd favorite. This track makes everyone want to get up and dance, while also featuring each musician at their best of the night!

Every night closes out with the same few songs..."I Can''t Drink Anymore/in The Morning" are two songs that talk about how you feel when you''re lookin'' across the room at the person you''ve been checking out all night...and the place is closing down and it''s time to make a move. The final "encore" track, "The Weight," is Joseph''s favorite to end a night with and is only shown in a snippet here since the CD is maxed out and can''t fit anymore music!! This CD is the best bang for your buck by far!
