tor glenn is a singer/songwriter originally from Brooklyn, New York, whose principle music influences early on were Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and Jimi Hendrix. While these influences can be heard in his music, glenn clearly has his own sound, voice, ideas, and something both personal and universal to comunicate through his songs. "Signed" to three different major record labels at various points in his carreer (Sony, MCA, Chrysalis), glenn is one of many who fell victim to the politcs and bureaucracy of the music "industry" (a total of zero records were ever finished/released for any of these lables) although it did not serve him particularly well that, by his own admission, glenn was not always the world''s greatest compromisor/negotiator, nor was he the easiest artist to manage -- Former managers Bill Aucoin (Billy Idol and Kiss) and John Telfer (Joe Jackson) would likely attest to this. For five years, tor glenn was a staff writer for Warner Chappel Music and for A&M Records (Almo/Irving Publishing) and wrote songs for and/or with Patty Smythe, Triumph, Regina Bell, Jack Wagner, and many others. glenn has also worked with producers Rick Chertoff (Cydni Lauper, The Hooters, Patty Smythe), Nick Martinele (Stephanie Mills, Regina Belle) and numerous others. tor glenn claims to have performed at "over 103 million bars and clubs" although this would appear to be a possible exageration. After nearly a decade of exploring various non-music adventures (although he never stopped writing songs), tor glenn "returned to the studio" in 2009 and produced this self titled quasi comeback CD. His philosophy of songwriting is very simple: "I listen very carefully and allow the song to unfold all by itself. If I stay out of the way, it''s likely to be a really good song. If I start getting "involved", I''ll get a formula based fake song. If it''s not inspired, it''s not worth doing. It''s all about love, patience, and listening... that''s what makes it fun". tor glenn no longer writes "for" or "with" anyone. He writes, plays, and sings for the joy of it and is sometimes heard muttering, "ah, the bliss of it all, may peace and peace and peace be everywhere!" (he has been known to mutter other things as well).
