Details:
After the independent success of its first full-length record ''A Curious Excavation'' (2007), Darkroom is putting out the long-awaited sophomore album. The band''s first album was kindly described as having ''mastered the application of an impressive array of styles, instruments, and objectives'' (https://www.tradebit.com). The members of Darkroom proudly hail from a small town in Indiana, and still ''musically outperform their more popular counterparts in Indianapolis and Chicago'' (Fort Wayne Journal Gazette). In the summer of ''08, Darkroom was selected as one of 16 bands to perform at the Cornerstone Festival New Band Showcase. They have been privileged to perform with such acts as Anathallo, Sleeping at Last, Deas Vail, and Denison Witmer. And after only 3 years as a band, Darkroom has successfully booked five independent U.S. tours and played over 300 shows.

Over two years after the release of “A Curious Excavation”, “Stay Here with Me (For Better or for Worse)” will reflect a selection of songs created over an 18-month period of songwriting and touring. Listeners can expect Darkroom’s new record to push the envelope of standard song structure and arrangements, while never neglecting pop smarts or regard for melody. “Stay Here with Me…” shows stylistic development and maturity giving the record a more distinct character, while still staying true to the band''s roots in dynamic and epic progression showcased in “A Curious Excavation”. “Stay Here with Me…” presents a fluid dichotomy reaching from patient moments of expansive, delay-laden syncopation found in album favorites like “Time Traveler” to almost new-wave occasions of catchy, celebratory drive featured in pop-friendly tunes like “Simple Mistake”.
