Details:
“Kevin Bulmer writes about his hometown, his own past, and their shared history, describing with a clear eye the place that shaped his songs. He writes and performs with undeniable passion." - David Francey, 3-time Juno Award Winner

After spending several years away from music in order to develop his professional career, Kevin took on a project in early 2007 in honour of his grandfather, Murray Newkirk, writing and recording three songs in support of the Wallaceburg Anitque Motor and Boat Outing (WAMBO) event and the town of Wallaceburg in general.

“Wallaceburg is my family’s home town, and it was everything to my Grandpa Newkirk,” said Kevin. “He loved watching the boat traffic on waterways like the Sydenham, Snye and St. Clair Rivers. The weekend of WAMBO, when the old wooden boats come back and downtown comes alive again, was an event in which he took great pride. So I decided to do something, largely on his behalf, to support it.”

The result was the three-song EP “I Remember,” built on the foundation of the song “Wallaceburg,” which paints the picture of the town’s annual event (WAMBO) and its rich history as a former inland deep water port.

“Glass” is a metaphorical celebration of the honour of living a life of integrity, set against the theme of the now-defunct glass factory which served as the backbone of the town’s economy for the better part of a century.

The title track paints a delicate picture in remembrance of Kevin’s family and their history with the town which, as Kevin recognized, is part of his history too. “I Remember” is sure to strike a chord with anyone who has ever reflected back to loved ones missed and days gone by.

Upon release of the CD in the summer of 2007, Kevin quickly received feedback that the songs had indeed connected with listeners:

“I was, once again, blinking back tears when you played ‘Wallaceburg.’ That song just touches me somehow. Well done!” - D.B.

“Kevin.......absolutely fantastic! You and your crew did a great job.” - M.K.

“I would like to thank you for a wonderful day. The music was great! Wishing you all the success and happiness for years to come!!” - K.W.

“The show sounded great … you are on the right track to great things that are coming your way.” - K.A.

“The songs ''Wallaceburg'' and ''I Remember'' look like they meant a lot to you.” - J.L.
