The songs off this E.P. address a very personal and heartfelt experience Car went through in 2009. "When losing someone close to you is always harder than you anticipate and when everyone around you always seems to let you down at the most inopportune times." Therefore the music and lyrics address this past year''s…lows and really lows. All of Despair & Desperation songs were recorded and mixed in Corpus Christi, Tx right by the beautiful white sand and warm waters of the Gulf Cost in a small townhouse in November and December in 2009. Therefore the songs on the E.P. must be heard as an album in its (whole) and not individually on there own to get the full happening.

It was started in the fall of 2009 in Corpus Christi, Tx right by the beautiful blue sky and warm waters of the Gulf Cost. At first it was considered just to be another outlet for Car to bounce ideas back and forth to his band Zebras and Firecrackers but as the music kept progressing forward and as many layers started to pile on, he soon realized he had gone far left than where he started and decided to just create a new name he could release the music under.
“I never anticipated this music was going to ever be released but once it started becoming its own sound, and after showing friends and family I soon understood that I had something here…what that is I wasn’t sure but their was something that came through”

So in November and December he started working on what would become Despair & Desperation a small Self/Independent Release. He was going to offer as a free download to anyone who had ears to listen to it.
“Ya and thats how I intended it to be…now its just crazy because people actually want to buy the album so I have to figure out a way to get it press’d on vinyl or cd or tape…to me that came as a shocker because I never planned to make money from it. I wanted it to be pure in its purest form when I made it so I never thought hey lets do this or that to make it more appealing”

In the near future Car plans on releasing some more music under the Sunsets and Hearts name…
“Ya so I’m shooting for another release in the Spring of 2010 and one in the Fall of 2010 also, so it’s going to be exciting this year no matter what happens from here on out and I’m really really looking forward to the new sounds I’ll be incorporating for this one coming out in the spring it’s gonna be Hella Good can’t wait to share these song’s lets just say its a more movie atmosphere built around my songs”
