NYMPHOMATICS is a three-piece rock band from New Brunswick, N.J. They combine hard-rock style and punk attitude with pop sensibilities. They are here to challenge the current state of sexually repressed culture and politics. They believe the primal elements of sex and lust are an essential part of the history and sound of rock music. Their stripped-down sound and straight forward approach is similar to bands like Nirvana, Weezer, Urge Overkill, Stone Temple Pilots, The Pixies, Chisel, and The White Stripes. The band includes Bern Blackburn (vocals, guitar), Eric Swin (bass, vocals), and Andy Sapko (drums). After forming in December 2008, they began playing regularly in New Brunswick at the Old Bay and the Court Tavern. With a stage performance featuring dancing girls and a light show, they were soon demanding attention in Asbury Park, N.J. at the Stone Pony and the Saint. This led to a slot at the 5th Annual Phanfest Music Festival in Kempton, Pa. In October 2009, after ten short months, NYMPHOMATICS released their debut EP The Treatment. The response has been strong. They were played and interviewed on WRSU 88.7 F.M.''s Overnight Sensations radio show, as well as internet radio program Heavy Metals Theater on https://www.tradebit.com. The band plans to continue getting The Treatment radio play locally and on college stations and to make it available on most music-service websites. They also plan to play club dates and tour in support of the EP. The band intends to record a full-length LP beginning sometime in 2010.
