An impressive array of Haitian singers gave the best of themselves during the preparation of this CD combo DVD + CD. 2004, the Bicentenial year of the Independence of Haiti, a year which brought pride, frustration, sadness, determination, self-examination among many Haitians. It is no accident that Haitian artists had a special role to play in celebrating this event. With the release of “Bay Ayiti yon chans” – Give Haiti a chance - , promoter Fred Paul and his group Lole-Lolay made it a point to contribute in his own way. The title tune, which is also the title of the CD, is based on John Lennon’s “Give peace a chance. ”
