Daydreamer is the first collaboration between Sean Hall and Jason Houtsma. Both musicians have impressive bio''s with Sean having already released 2 solo CD''s both produced and mixed by veteran producer, Michael James. Michael has worked with countless secular acts including Alice in Chains, Brand New Radicals, Hole and AJ Croce. Sean also gained some notoriety for penning the Matt Brower hit, "Water", which went to #2 on the CHR charts. Jason, who is credited with a number of instruments on "Worship" as well as four co-writes, has recorded with such prominent worship leaders as Darrell Evans and Kent Henry.
The Washington based duo set out to make a quality studio recording that captured their passion for creative, holistic worship and succeeded admirably. The album is a collection of 11 original songs that reflect both the believer''s heart AND mind. The songs sketch vivid imagery and cover a range of topics from God''s faithfulness (Everyday) to His Work of Salvation (What Precious Grace) to being awed by His glory (Undone). While most songs are singable in a church setting, the two did not sacrifice their musicianship or creativity to make them so. Both accomplished guitar players, Sean and Jason weave tastefully intricate tonal layers throughout the record.
Each song is well-crafted and produced with a quality rare in independent recordings. This is due in part to the drum and bass team of Jaben Pennell and Sammy Martinez as well as Pennell''s superior engineering abilities. To add further credibility to the project, the CD was mastered by David Donnelly of DNA Mastering who has mastered, among other mainstream bands, Aerosmith.
