darrell’s new CD release, BE STILL, on the Gold Leaf Records label (https://www.tradebit.com) captures the essence of this multi-talented artist. The CD consists of 14 original songs ranging in styles from R&B and Pop, to Jazz and World Music. darrell’s music has a very strong spiritual focus, but is designed to appeal to people of all beliefs. The first single from this CD is a mesmerizing piece entitled, “And So Said Maya Angelou.” It is an incredible composition that pays homage to the great poet and sage, Maya Angelou, simultaneously delivering a powerful message of growth and rebirth.

darrell is an accomplished musician with many years of professional experience. He is a composer, producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist. darrell’s writing style runs the gamut between R&B, pop, classical and jazz, to Latin, new age, techno, house and world music influences. As a performer, he has played with such notable artists as the late, great Jaco Pastorius, former bass player for Weather Report, and Patato, renowned Latin percussionist. He was also the bandleader for JVC Jazz artist Carmen Lundy’s first group in Miami, Fla.

As a composer and producer, darrell has worked with such notable artists as Chuck Brown, EU, Rare Essence, and the Parliament Funkadelic horn section. He co-wrote and co-produced the 1980’s hit, “DC Don’t Stand for Dodge City” sung by Chuck Brown and other Go Go artists. darrell has also composed and produced music for radio and TV, including program music for BET.
