Soldier In The Wind was written about a friend of our family "Kenny Lafaira". Kenny was a Soldier in the U.S. Navy . As he got to be an older man our family kept in touch with him throughout the years. One day we got a call from him. Kenny said, "my doctor say''s I have a short time to live". Our family took care of him. Shortly before Kenny passed on ,He asked me, "David, will you write a song about my life and my accomplishments"? This song was written in memory of Kenny.
Cowboy Town was written in memory of my Great-Grandfather Bart Miller ( 1897-1970 ). Bart was a Rodeo Cowboy .He owned a horse farm /Race track in West Palm Beach , Fl. in the 1940''s. He was an inspiration to all , including Manny Tortora. Manny got his start as a young boy racing on Bart''s track. He is now a nationally known horse trainer who has had numerous wins in the Kentucky Derby . At a young age my Great-Grand father Bart encouraged me to go forth with my desire to play the guitar and sing .
