Born John Maisonet, June 10, 1969 in Brooklyn, NY, DaSheen was influenced by music since Grade School. He started by taking up the trumpet in Grade School then continued his musical education in High School and even attended Institute of Audio Research.
In 1999, DaSheen founded the group HGM. The group had members Pchunk and Raleek. DaSheen was not only the group''s third member, but also served as the group''s manager and producer. The group''s CD, entitled "Hang Em High" was produced entirely by DaSheen which showed his skills as a producer and a writer. The group released one single off the CD, "Street Life", with an accompanying video, also produced by DaSheen. The CD and video was released through the underground and even though the CD had underground acclaim, due to differences in the group, HGM disbanded 2000-2001.
In 2004, after producing songs for other groups and artists, DaSheen decided to embark on a solo career. This time he established "teflon Entertainment" with the slogan - "Can''t penetrate the sound, can''t scratch the surface!". In 2006, he recorded the EP/CD "A Life In The Day Of". The 8 track EP/CD is autobiographical ("Hold Mee Down", "Is It BCause I''m Black", Duh Furst Tyme"), political ("Bahd Mahn") and expresses DaSheen''s displeasure and discontent with the present state of Hip-Hop ("Teflon", Remyniss"). There is also a treat for the streets, "Uptown Tail", a fictitious tale about drugs and murder.
With teflon Entertainment established and "A Life In The Day Of" completed, DaSheen is now promoting himself and his project as a complete package - record label, producer, manager and rapper/entertainer.
