Details:
The Colors of My Life traces a journey from longing to hopeful and romantic.

Currently appearing in The Phantom of the Opera (Broadway National Tour) DAVID DeWITT has performed in every major city in the U.S. including Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. In New York he has performed at Lincoln Center as well as numerous other notable venues.

In this debut album he shares his sensitive interpretations of some songs you love and others you''re bound to.

"The Colors of my life grew out my desire to create a cd that would include songs that everyone could relate to, from my closest friends to my parents friends. All of the songs in The Colors of My Life had an powerful impact on me the first time I heard them. I know they represent moments that we have all experienced."

We have all questioned our life at some point, wondering if we made the right choices, or should have done something differently. Then we remember a time when everything seemed to magically come together and we got to experience something that made it all worthwhile. I think GOLD by Frank Wildhorn and Nan Knighton captures that moment. (From the musical "Camille Claudel")

I CAN DO THIS by D.C Anderson and Steven Landau is a beautifully plaintive ballad about someone still coming to terms with a relationship that has come to an end and attempting to remain friends.

Sometimes we find ourselves looking for a sign to guide us, but we''ve already decided how and where we want it. STILL BELIEVING by the Irish songwriter Thom Moore is a poetry song about the unexpected sign that sends us "down on our knees again".

THE COLORS OF MY LIFE by Cy Coleman and Michael Stewart (from the musical "Barnum") encapsulates the feeling I wanted for this entire album. We all have colorful lives. In the end we learn from it all, our past guides us and we can look back on the rainbow of a life well lived.

I first heard SONG OF BERNADETTE sung by Jennifer Warnes (which she wrote with Bill Elliot and Leonard Cohen) in the mid 80''s. This song is inspired by the true story of Saint Bernadette. "So many hearts I find, broke like yours and mine, torn by what we''ve done and can''t undo"

IF I LOVED YOU (from the Musical Carousel ) is of course by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. You may have heard it your whole life, like I have. If you haven''t, I hope it will become a favorite.

THE VERY THOUGHT OF YOU is by Ray Noble. A beautiful standard about a lover who forgets about everything else when his love comes to mind.

ISN''T IT ROMANTIC by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart is one of my favorite love songs. It''s unique because it''s sung to someone you haven''t met.

I WISHED ON THE MOON by Dorothy Parker and Ralph Rainger is the wish come true. Yearning comes to an end. The true love is found.

The beautiful arrangements and orchestrations on this album were created by Glenn Longacre at Final Score in Orlando, Florida.

Feel free to drop me a line. Or if you''re in a city where "Phantom" is playing, come by the stage door and say hi.

Thanks for giving my cd a try. I hope you''ll be inspired, uplifted or just enjoy listening to it!
