In the early nineties, after 25 years of piano bars, rockin'' blues bands... & after countless gigs as a sideman to various blues and R&B artists, I formed my own blues band... & we were known as Dave Foraker & True Blue. When we won the prestigious Lowcountry Blues Bash in Charleston, SC (February 1996), we seemed to be headed for the "big-time blues circuit". Our first CD was getting great response on blues radio... & we were booked for our first European tour. I was fully prepared to spend the rest of my life playin'' & singin'' the blues in roadhouses, blues bars & festivals.
Instead, within days I found myself in the hospital... victim of a severe stroke. I spent several months in rehab-therapy, learning to walk & talk. God was showing me that He was in control, at a time when I felt I was the master of my destiny. As soon as I was able to return to the studio, I removed the vocals from my recently completed debut CD. I then used the completed tracks as a canvas to paint the picture of my struggles & God''s amazing grace & healing powers.
"Jesus Loves Me" was a hit on https://www.tradebit.com, hitting #1 on it''s "Christian Blues Chart" & remaining in the top 10 for over a year.
