Different Kong is a studio band that was formed to make good recordings of old songs that had never been recorded - or almost never. Two brothers, Josh and Kevin McCafferty, got together last summer and started going over old cassette tape recordings of various bands they had been in since the early ''90s. They found that they still liked some of the ideas and thought it would be jolly-jack splendid if they revisited, revised and re-recorded everything they liked best. So, in the summer of ''05, they enlisted the help of friend and drummer Rory Carrera and away they went. The members of the band are Josh McCafferty on guitars, voice, and keys; Kevin McCafferty on Rhodes, organ, and keys; Rory Carrera on drums and percussion. DK is looking forward to making new recordings later this year and taking their show on the road.
