Computers allow new possibilities in art, in Music for example. While tradition has music in a specific place, dealing with an artist’s surroundings, the computer provides an artist such as myself the tools to create and produce more independently. By this I mean- as my ability to translate emotions and feelings into the medium of the computer develops then my option to spend more time in an environment that generates the desired emotions is realized.
By this way I am free to produce music without the pressure to earn an income by music which in my opinion has adverse effect on the creative process. Music in general is made to convey an easy and in some ways careless atmosphere. This contradiction has plagued music for centuries. The integrity of music will most likely suffer if the motifs are clouded with ideas that are made to impress and demonstrate. It is more practical if one can achieve a state of being idol and free while music is being written. However ideas come from action. The action you choose might be the means for earning an income. Everyday occurrences in your job will provide you with the needed reactions that become a part of the music. What then will you spend your time doing? This is a question that each individual must ask him or herself, taking into account their beliefs and taking into account the effect their actions have on others. By doing this you become more aware of other people’s needs.
