Lake Of Bass started when Tim approached Diego to supply backing music for his sold out one man show for the Festival of Perth Artrage festival. They liked it and wanted to expand their work together.

Their first EP - the sold out and critically acclaimed ‘Deep Dark Jazz’ was released in’99 the year later they wowed them at the Big Day Out, and won best band at the Fringe Festival.

Diego lives in Italy in the winter months in Australia and came back in Jan 2003 to work on the ‘Wildlife Researcher’ album. This album transcends most genres of music has sold well and been hugely acclaimed, with ‘album of the year’ claims being touted.

The album was created in their home studios enlisting a vast array of local talent from Symphony cello players to Sinatra-esque singers, the only samples on the ‘Wildlife Researcher’ album were the ones Lake Of Bass made for the release.

Lake Of Bass did a local tour playing in front of 3000 people at Breakfest - a major festival plus many other shows with a seven piece band enlisted to bring the album to life – live.


The home-made film-clips that Lake Of Bass have made have both been nominated for Western Australian film awards, being a finalists in 2004 for their quirky clip to the massive tune ‘Hit 5’.

They have licensed tracks from the ‘Wildlife Researcher’ album to Petrol Records and Triple J, plus played live for Triple J in their Perth studios – broadcast to an estimated 300,000 people in June ’04. Just about every track off the ‘Wildlife Researcher’ album has been played on local and national radio and the reviews keep coming each better that the last.

Nova Perth has featured the album plus featured two songs from the album including the new song ‘Children’s Revolution’, Tim being ‘stoked’ to be interviewed by Australian Idol host Andrew G. for Nova. The ‘Wildlife Researcher’ has also been feature album on JJJ’s Groove Train, And RTR FM’s Breakfeast show. Lake of Bass also just had a feature album on Nova Sydney’s Chillzone show and have had every track (11 in total) from the ‘Wildlife Researcher’ album played on various local and national radio stations.

Lake Of Bass received three nominations in the W.A.M. song writing competition in the jazz, urban and electronic section – winning the electronic section.

Lake Of Bass ‘Wildlife Researcher’ was also in JJJ’s ‘Mel In The Morning’ show top 3 Australian albums of 2003.

The new album ‘Coincidence Control’ has had feature albums on RTR FM Perth, FBI Sydney, was in the top 4 played albums on 4ZZZ Brisbane plus had half the album playlisted on BONDI FM. Triple J, Australia’s only national ‘cool’ broadcaster has played 4 tracks of the new album, and countless other stations have interviewed Tim and played tracks of this new gem.

‘Coincidence Control’ received 2 nominations in the recent W.A. music awards in the Urban and Electronic sections, and with new songs remixes and a new killer filmclip on the way things are on the up and up.
