LADY GOINES

Born and raised in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, NY, Lady Goines has overcome many trials and tribulations. Coming from a family of musical background, she was blessed with many talents. Whether it was in church on Sunday, the Glee Club in school, or in her fathers nightclub, she always loved to sing. By the time she was eight years old, she was referred to as the “Black Annie” for performing “The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow” at various events. Having a very loud voice and high pitch, she was also known as the little girl who didn’t need a microphone.
Lady Goines feels she missed her chance when she was younger, but is older, wiser, and has now discovered her many hidden talents. She and her sister formed a duo called “Remaniz” in the late 90''s. They wrote many songs together but things didn’t work out because of problems with management . She has since then become solo and has done numerous showcases and performances. She’s starred in an independent movie called “Better Days” and also wrote a movie script about her own life called “Ghetto Queen”. She has two non-profit organizations called the “SMILE Foundation” which stands for (struggling single mothers inflicted by lost emotions) and also the “ ITCHY Foundation” which stands for (it can happen to you) and is an Aids awareness program. She is also founder of the "DIBO MOVEMENT" which encourages our people to take charge and "Do It By Ourselves".
Through her struggle, she’s remained determined to succeed and has grown to become more independent with her own project. In 2001 she promoted and distributed her first single, and in 2004 she also dropped a single in which both did very well on the streets. She is a singer, writer, producer, CEO, and first lady of C-Mac Enterprise. Dealing with the reality of poverty and street life, she compares her writing skills to the books of the legendary Donald Goines. Her songs are filled with soul. The notes hold the pain and the words tell her story. Being from the city, but a country girl at heart having southern roots, Lady Goines is representing for all hoods. She calls her raw, street, R&B sound “Reality & Blues”. A refreshing new voice of the ghetto, “Lady Goines” is comin’at cha’.
