Laura & Filippo happened to have been in Manhattan at the time of the 911 disaster. After month''s and month''s of mourning for our countries loss we decided it was time to BRING IN SOME JOY! That is HOW and WHY this version of "THAT''S AMORE" was created - to give back, if only for a moment, a lighter feeling in our hearts and to spread JOY instead of fear.
LAURA LEON:
Laura Leon is originally from "Sweet Home" Chicago where she preformed with her band in BLUES clubs all over town. She has sung professionally since the age of 14 years old. She now lives in Los Angeles as a singer/songwriter. She has done TV and Film for many years with guest spots on THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO and and a role in the short lived sit-com "DADDY DEAREST" starring Don Rickles and many more.
She has starred in numurous commercials including HONDA, EL POLLO LOCO and CARROWS Restaurants. She has been in numerous stage and musical productions in L.A. New York, Chicago and London. You can catch her in a "STING" music video for the song: "THEY DANCE ALONE" as well as a "ROCK THE VOTE" spot on MTV with JOHN LAGUISAMO
Laura won Best Musical of the Year in L.A. for the musical production "A Twist Of Faith" at the Tiffany Theater on Sunset Blvd and had a lead role in a film that was taken all the way to the SUNDANC FILM FESTIVAL with RAVE reviews.

Filippo is a seven-time winner of the Sergio Franchi Vocal Competition, a NIAF and MAF Grant winner, a Eugene O''Neill Cabaret Symposium Fellow, a nominee for Entertainer of the Year by the Southern California Motion Picture Council and a winner of the Silver Bowl Award from the International Society of Poets for the lyrics to his title song on his latest CD. He and his work have been honored with mentions in such books as famed author Richard Gruden''s new book "Italian Crooners - A Bedside Companion," and a romance novel still to be officially titled and released.
Comfortable making any stage his home as singer, entertainer or emcee, Filippo continues to perform in intimate cabarets as well as headlining performances on large stages with full orchestra (or big band) before large audiences. So versatile in fact, that he actually began his professional singing career in leading opera and musical comedy roles, and in 2003 premiered the role of Socrates in the world premier of the rock opera Visions by Dimitiris.
He sings in several different languages including English, Italian, Latin, Spanish, French, German, Sicilian, Portuguese (Brazilian), and Neapolitan.
